Now featuring molded plastic foot

This push pole was originally built in the early 90's for personal use. Then we built some for friends, and then for a period of five years or so we advertised them in Florida Sportsman and sold them to the general public, with over 500 delivered. The concept is to have a utilitarian, sturdy, and affordable push pole that satisfies the needs of the average sportsman.

Shipping is a problem with push poles. If a common carrier has to be used it is expensive and inconvenient, so these push poles are designed to be shipped via UPS. The way we accomplish this is to ship in two packages. One package is a shipping tube that contains two nine foot sections (nine feet is the UPS maximum). The other is a small carton that contains the point, foot, center ferrule, epoxy to use in assembly, and everything else that is needed. Assembly is simple, and the pole is ready to be used the next day after the epoxy has cured.

The design of the center joint is unique in that it holds the fiberglass laminate internally and externally, preventing splitting at the joint. In fact, we have never heard of this joint failing in normal service. The same technique is used at the foot end. The fiberglass laminate used is both strong and durable, and not prone to failing if it is nicked or gouged. The point is machined aluminum, and the foot is molded high-strength plastic. Typical weight of the complete pole is 7.5 lbs. Check the "FAQ" tab for more information, and photos are on the assembly page.
